As Hurricane Beryl’s remnants approach Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning. This weather system is expected to bring significant rainfall and poses potential risks to homeowners.

Forecast Details

According to CTV News, the forecast includes:

  • Rainfall totals of 40 to 60 mm, with locally higher amounts possible.
  • Torrential downpours with rainfall rates of 20 to 40 mm per hour at times.
  • The heaviest rain is expected today into this evening – July 10, tapering to scattered showers overnight.
  • Heavier bands of rain are expected to arrive in the GTA around 11:30 a.m.
  • Rainfall will intensify after 5 p.m. and is expected to taper off by early Thursday morning.
  • Some areas may experience local rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm, with rates of 20 to 40 mm per hour during the heaviest periods.
