SOLUTIONS FOR EXTERIOR WET BASEMENT IN TORONTO
EVERY EXTERIOR WATERPROOFING SOLUTION IS DIFFERENT
Exterior waterproofing procedure
The main exterior waterproofing solution that we provide is a waterproof jacket that is intended for your foundation. With the use of highly waterproof materials, we add extra layers of protection which will inhibit any water from getting into the exterior walls of your home. This is a permanent solution that will also maintain the structural integrity.
The procedure of exterior waterproofing involves the following:
Step-1
We dig the area around your house all the way to the weeping tile pipe. The depth varies according to how elevated the building is, usually between 4 and 8 feet.

Step-2
Next, we power blast and clean the wall. This exposes the brickwork or concrete that makes up your exterior wall. We then check for any structural cracks or gaps.

Step-3
After the cracks are identified and the walls are exposed, we do the essential repairs to your foundations. Any defected areas are carved out and hydraulic cement is applied to any fissures. This expands and offers protection and restoration of your walls.

Step-4
Next, aqua bloc is applied. This is a distinctive material that provides structural stability and is not so permeable. The stone is designed precisely to block the flow of water and adds a very effective layer of waterproofing to your house.

Step-5
One layer of aqua bloc is usually not enough. We apply the yellow jacket which will firmly hold the material in place, and then another layer of aqua bloc is applied. This ensures dual protection such that no water ever reaches your exterior walls.

Step-6
A platon membrane is applied as the final waterproof protection layer, and a complementary drainage system is installed. This ensures groundwater is directed away from your house thus reducing hydrostatic pressure, which ensures long term protection. This material relieves the pressure off the waterproof materials beneath and ensures the durability of the work. The drainage and platon membrane are then covered with a thick layer of gravel to make best use of the drainage.

Step-7
The area is filled back to its original state and your garden is finally restored. Once we are done, you will never experience a damp problem ever again!
